| These
colors were developed to address specific needs - either a color that
wasn't available in the Effetre pallet, such as true purples and bright
neon translucent colors, or to improve the working properties or opacity
of a particular color, such as truly opaque and consistent oranges and
yellows.
The recipes and mixing instructions to make all of these colors are provided in Chapter 8 of my book Torchworked Marbles, Vol. 1 - Beginner to Intermediate Techniques. (Click HERE for book information.) The color samples below are organized by opacity and in the order in which their recipes appear in my book. |

Strikes in the flame and
annealer. Looks almost black unencased and like Effetre Medium
Lapis when encased. (Shown here unencased) |
|
| DFO-010 Royal Blue -1 (encased) |
Use this color encased. Looks similar to Effetre Light Lapis when unencased..

||
| DFO-016 Deep Burgundy |
Remains burgundy when encased, unlike Effetre Purple Red [438].
| DFO-017 Cappuccino |
Flameworked color is a very pale, creamy tan, almost ivory. It should be flame struck before annealing. (Shown here struck)
| DFO-018 Light Caramel |
This recipe varies with the intensity of the light brown used to mix it.

||
| DFO-032 Dark Jade Green |
||
| DFO-033 Light Ivory |
Ivory without the problems. It works well in the flame, doesn't have streaks, and doesn't smear. It's lighter than Effetre Ivory and not quite as tan. It looks more like actual tusk ivory.
| DFO-034 Lavender |
Strikes in the flame and
annealer. It looks mottled or streaked when unencased and can be
very pretty that way. Encased and annealed it tends to turn a
more consistent color. (Shown here unencased) |

Non-Striking | |
| DFO-036 Dark Mauve |
Non-Striking | |

||
| DFO-052 Flower Purple |
If it's not over-mixed this recipe stays streaky even after annealing.
| DFO-053 Dark Flower Purple |
If it's not over- mixed this recipe stays streaky even after annealing.
| DFO-054 Bright Red |
Use very low heat to mix and use this color. Never let it get above a medium orange heat and it will be a bright, opaque red.

|
| DFO-059 Pastel Teal |
||
| DFO-060 Light Teal |
||
| DFO-061 Copper Patina Teal |
Very, very slight alterations in the amount of BY used in this recipe will produce different shades of this color, so experiment. I use it encased because it tends to smear otherwise.
| DFO-062 Pale Turquoise |
||
| DFO-063 Light Turquoise (unencased) |
Use unencased. This color appears very pale, almost white, when encased.
| DFO-064 Turquoise |

Comments |
| DFS-001 Bi-Color Blue |
Colors of peacock blues and greens depending on thickness and lighting. The image shows it over white on the left end of the rod and solid on the right end of the rod. The green iridescence on the right end shows best in sunlight or under halogen lighting.
| DFS-002 Chocolate Green |
Dark chocolate brown in reflected light, but translucent green in transmitted light. It has to be very thin to show green, such as stringers or blown.
| DFS-003 Sienna Sand |
Translucent brown with glittery swirls. The image on the right is backlit.
| DFS-004 Teal / Pale Aqua |
Unstruck it appears transparent dark teal. It can be selectively flame-struck from cloudy pale aqua to opaque teal. Anneal in the low end of the annealing range and it remains the way it was when put into the annealer. The image on the right is backlit. |
